Who does this apply to? | Eligibility Criteria | Detail |
---|---|---|
All employees | Conduct | Any conduct cases recorded on your HR file could affect your eligibility to apply. If you are aware of any such cases on your record, please discuss this with your line manager and HR Business Partner before applying. Further approval may be required to be able to progress your application. Please note that if you are a Frontline (CWU represented) employee applying for a Trainee Manager or Deputy Manager role this will be treated as a management application. |
All employees in CMA/Unite (Managerial) represented grades | Advising your line manager | You should advise your line manager that you wish to apply for this role before submitting your application. If you do not feel comfortable speaking to your line manager, then advice should be sought from either the 2nd line manager, HR Director, Head of HR, Senior HR Business Partner or HR Business Partner. |
All employees in CMA/Unite (Managerial) represented grades (Please note this does not apply to RMPFS employees when moving within RMPFS, or to substantive Cover Manager post holders) |
Appraisal Score | If you are applying for a promotion/increase in grade, your last full year appraisal must be ‘Good’ or above. If you are applying for a move at the same level, your last full year appraisal score must be ‘Improvement Needed’ or above. There may be exceptional circumstances where an employee whose performance has been rated “improvement needed” may be a better match for a promoted role than the role they are currently in. Under these circumstances the application should be agreed with the HR Business Partner before submitting your application. Please retain this approval before applying as you may be required to show this later in the process. |
All current Royal Mail Graduates | Graduate nearing end of programme | If you are currently a Graduate on the Royal Mail Graduate Programme you should not be applying for new roles unless you are in the final 6 months of your programme. You will also be expected to have achieved a minimum of a “Good” in your final full year’s appraisal whilst on programme. |
All current Wholesale employees (including support functions employees) | Regulatory Requirements | As Royal Mail is subject to regulation, we are required to follow certain regulatory obligations. Before any internal transfer either into or out of Wholesale or a central function that supports Wholesale, you must obtain prior approval from Compliance. You will also need to follow the mandatory staff transfer process, which requires Compliance approval. Please refer to the Staff Transfer Guidance document and the Staff Transfer Form |
