Job Purpose
To identify & define improvement opportunities & potential business benefits, and document these formally including structured requirement specifications that enable delivery & testing of those improvements.  Work with internal, external and third party suppliers. 
Key Accountabilities
Apply agreed methods to carry out investigations, analysis, review and documentation of all or part of a business in terms of business functions & processes, the information used & the data on which the information is based
Work proactively with the business to capture and document technical and business requirements in a clear and concise fashion
Define requirements for improving business processes and systems ,and quantification of potential benefits
Create viable specifications and acceptance criteria suitable for procurement / construction of information and communication systems
Lead and support the facilitation of business workshops to develop and convert business requirements into process/systems solutions taking into account IT, business and commercial drivers
Compile functional and technical specifications and elements of solution design working with architecture, infrastructure and development/vendor teams
Ensure the quality of the analysis, requirements, specifications & acceptance criteria produced
Support the shaping, leading and delivery of business, technology and process change in a supply chain environment.

Essential criteria:

  • Very good standard of English and excellent written and verbal communications skills with the ability to document requirements without ambiguity
  • Proven ability to translate complex issues and requirements into coherent, plain language using simple terms
  • Track record of delivering large projects in the UK
  • Ability to persuade stakeholders to change and innovate.
  • Experience of complex Governance environments and understanding of Waterfall and Agile delivery
  • Dynamic, self-starter
  • Experience in bridging operations and technology

Reports to: Business Solutions Lead
Key dimensions
Identification of high-value business improvement opportunities for programmes with measurable benefits
Produces Requirements Specifications that will be used as the basis of supplier’s bids and tenders to supply solutions
Accuracy and completeness of specifications is critical to minimise programme changes and associated costs.
