The Role

 

Basic Salary £41,787 per annum (rising to £43,218 per annum after 12 months) plus shift allowance £374.53 per month and potential 8% bonus.

The role is Full Time and covers 12 hour Day Shifts and 12 hour Night Shifts over a 4 week set rota.  As high degree of flexibility is required you will be rewarded with £14.419 per annum scheduled Sunday attendance (24.5 hours / 4 week rota) plus £2,755 per annum average Shift Bank Holiday overtime.
                                                                 
Potential earnings could be over £60,000 per annum
 

We are looking to offer fixed term contracts for 12 months.

 

On a day-to-day basis, responsible for performing corrective/preventive maintenance tasks compliant with PPM and SMP Schedules and recognised diagnostic procedures to resolve automation asset faults and equipment failures.
Identify the root cause of automation asset faults to improve asset performance and reliability and meet operational processing objectives.
Consistently interface with operations, and maintenance management systems to deliver a professional engineering service.
To maintain the safe working of all Automation assets and to ensure compliance to the latest asset configuration.
 

Key Accountabilities 

 

To implement maintenance techniques which ensure that the asset performance & availability design criteria is always achieved. Perform routine and complex corrective, preventive maintenance tasks, including troubleshooting and adjustment in line with available procedures, to achieve set performance results. This will be across all site automation assets and all tasks as necessary, in a flexible manner.
Ensure that defined data & maintenance metrics are captured, understood and acted upon, within the Computerised Maintenance Management System and automation platforms. Ensure the effective provision of automation spares, including the recording of usage and cost.
 

To identify and maximise improvement opportunities associated with assets and processes throughout the asset lifecycle. Monitor and analyse day-to-day equipment performance data, identify, prioritise and implement appropriate interventions to ensure performance parameters are met.
Identify, develop & recommend improvements to exceed automation targets either associated directly with the assets or the processes.
To ensure that the integrity, configuration, longevity and reliability of the assets are safeguarded, always enhanced and promoted. Implement only approved modifications to the equipment, ensure that the configuration status, hardware, software & mechanical is always known and recorded.
Participate in ensuring that all maintenance activities and changes are entered into the agreed maintenance management systems.
To contribute to the overall success of the Unit by active participation in the delivery of the Balanced Scorecard, team targets and personal targets.
Participate and transfer automation and associated equipment knowledge and skills within the production unit, to achieve a high standard of operational results. Personally, coach and develop multi-skills across all automated platforms to increase production unit flexibility and ability to respond to customer requirements.
Develop personal knowledge, skills & abilities in line with business aims, by actively participating in cross functional learning and standards accreditation to achieve World Class capability and enhance the production unit’s results
Adhere to all Health & Safety legislation and any other regulatory controls in place at HWDC. Personally, perform operations in line with Health and Safety procedures and policies, by ensuring safety precautions, standard operating procedures, training and core behavioral standards are continually adhered to
Consistently behave in a fair and equitable manner towards colleagues at work to ensure compliance with Equal Opportunities policy

Knowledge/ Qualifications

 

A recognized technical qualification, which provides expertise in electrical/ electronic/ mechanical engineering, is essential.
Already possess or working towards Engineering Council, Engineering Technician status (EngTec).

 

Skills & Experience

 

Able to use engineering knowledge and understanding, to review, select and use techniques, procedures and methods to achieve desired results.
Identify problems and apply effective diagnostic methods, to contribute to operation and maintenance of the site.
Use oral, written and electronic communication to impart / receive technical and other information.
Ability to identify, plan and use resources effectively to complete set tasks whilst maintaining due regard to cost, quality, safety.
Technical & diagnostic troubleshooting skills
Analytical and problem solving ability
Able to work under minimum supervision, to industry standards codes of practice, on own and as part of a team
