Royal Mail is recruiting now for a Data Provision Analyst to join the business.

 

About the role 
As a Data Provision Analyst, you’ll quality assure data for the systems that are controlled and supported by Business Services. You’ll be responsible for the control and change management of data warehouses, master data, and reference data. Ensuring data is supplied, obtained and prepared as appropriate, you’ll manage data interfaces and data transfer processes, guaranteeing that all data has been reconciled, quality issues addressed, and relevant registers / logs maintained accurately and to agreed timescales.

 

Supporting the provision of data to the wider business, you’ll run set daily, weekly and monthly reports and provide stakeholders with intelligence to influence key business decisions. In addition to supporting the monthly cycle of reports, you’ll be the main point of contact for adhoc reporting and outputs. You’ll interface with all business functions, and provide key support to the wider business. Handling queries and change requests, you’ll ensure all data is updated in an accurate and timely manner. You’ll also manage the report specification and change process; from gathering requirements, supporting development and testing in system, through to go-live.

 

About you 
With a background in data management, you’ll be experienced in working with data warehouses and large data sets. You’ll have a strong understanding of how to use data to add value and contribute to business decisions. Numerate, with a high attention to detail, you’ll have the ability to think creatively and analytically. With excellent time management skills, you’ll be able to work to tight deadlines and respond at pace to changing requirements in business performance reporting.

 

With exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, you’ll be an expert in stakeholder management and have the ability to clearly explain technical matters to the wider business. IT savvy, you’ll be competent in the use of Microsoft programmes, with extensive Excel experience. Knowledge or experience with Access, Teradata SQL, is preferred. A background in finance is beneficial, but not required.
