The Fabric and Assets Team Leader role is a fantastic opportunity to join Royal Mail’s Property and Facilities Solutions to lead, motivate, encourage and manage a team of skilled technicians across the North East region.

About the role
With responsibility for the successful contract delivery of c£1.5 - £2.5million of income within the North East area this role will allow you to successfully manage the cost control of direct labour, material spend and sub-contractor to ensure our product exceeds budget expectations. 

As a proactive and positive member of the team, you will have key responsibility for ensuring all business policies, procedures and practices are effectively implemented and promoted to optimise standards of professionalism and service. You will encourage the use of modern practices and technology whilst working with key senior stakeholders both within the business and externally.

This exciting opening will give you the opportunity to be accountable for the development of strong and positive colleague and industrial relations culture within the business alongside managing operational issues and escalations. Whilst being the direct line manager for circa 15 – 20 employees you will be the face of a culture of cooperation, collaboration and teamwork.

About you
With strong background of leadership experience, you will have demonstrable knowledge of cost control and an effective history of achieving targets. Your experience of supporting, managing and developing a team, ideally of Fabric and Assets technicians, will be essential and some evidence of performance management would support your application.

With knowledge of Health, Safety and Compliance legislation within the Fabric and Assets industry, you will able to manage estimation projects for both planned and non-planned improvements. Leading by example you will be able to drive attendance management and any disciplinary issues.

You will have experience of working with senior stakeholders, with the ability to positively influence and communicate with delivery teams and customers at all levels. Similarly, ideally you will have some experience or understanding of the complexities surrounding working with Trade Unions.
