About the Role
Reporting into the Director of Finance, you will work with with the International Operations and Finance teams to manage and ensure accuracy of customs Tax & Duty that are raised by Royal Mail. The key purpose is to ensure that there are clear reconciliation processes in place and we are confident that all charges are raised to the appropriate channels.  You will also manage a Manual Billing Manager in the team.

 

You will also:
•    Be accountable for the Financial Control framework relating to Parcel Force Worldwide (PFW) customs activities, including both import and export customs for both commercial and postal clearances.
•    Ensure that all key processes across the Tax & Duty billing activity are clearly documented/process mapped and that monthly reconciliation checks are carried out and deferment account (held with HMRC) is fully reconciled, resolving, or writing off any discrepancies. 
•    Participate in all future developments in this arena, engaging with any projects that may arise.
•    Support the Sales and Commercial Teams with escalated customer enquiries and work closely with the Commercial Customs Bureau 
•    Resolve all PFW finance issues in the customs arena, partnering with the senior stakeholders in customs compliance, tax and billing.
•    Manage all off-system billing undertaken in PFW, ensuring that all is SOX compliant and be responsible for ensuring there are adequate controls and authorisations in place for all complex billing enquiries in PFW.
