This is a new role that sits within Royal Mails Finance function. We are looking for a talented, committed FP&A professional with Cash & Working Capital experience to join our Finance team and help us shape the face of Royal Mail for the Future. 
 

About the role
As Senior Finance Manager in the FP&A team, your primary focus will be on Cash & Working Capital. You'll be responsible for creation, management and control of the cashflow budget - both including forecatsing and variance analysis to actuals.

 

You will coordinate and manage stakeholders for weekly reporting to the Board, consolidating short-term cash flow forecast with Treasury that feeds into a longer-term view. You will work closely with other members of the FP&A team, finance shared services, and other senior stakeholders to help provide the business with cash and working capital insight, visibility and foresight. You will help identify risks and opportunities around cash, working capital and beyond, to inform process and control improvements. This is a multi-dimensional role – one that requires strong analytical acumen, stakeholder management, and the ability to articulate output to Board-level audience. You will focus on in-year delivery and long-term strategic planning of the Balance Sheet & Cash Flow, for working capital, and deputise for Finance Director in forums where cash is an agenda item.

 

You will lead on expert reporting and forecasting across the Balance Sheet and Cash Flow statements, supporting the business and treasury, in managing direct cash flow, working capital, investment spend and debt obligations. The output provides vital management information to aid Board-level decision making.

 

You’ll lead on the production and delivery of financial planning outputs and communicating the financial plan to stakeholders and lead on board-level deliverables.

You’ll apply your expert knowledge and experience to develop our forecasting capabilities, improve forecast accuracy and create insightful reporting for our executive leadership teams.


This will require strong knowledge of financial planning principles, financial modelling expertise across financial statements.  You will work collaboratively with stakeholders across Finance to gather inputs and ensure the outputs are grounded and commercial context.
 

About You

Essential Skills and Qualifications required:

• Qualified Accountant with substantial post qualification experience (5+ years)

• ESSENTIAL - Proven demonstrable experience in Cash & Working Capital Management.

• Proficient in Excel PowerPoint and Word to create Board-ready outputs, and to present these to senior business. stakeholders with credibility.

• Experience working with complex financial models.

• Ability to manage multiple high priorities and high visibility deliverables, with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
