This is a hybrid working role with the requirement to an attend a Royal Mail office 3 days each week. Office location will be discussed with the successful candidate on application.

As a Commercial Pricing Executive you’ll be collaborating with various internal stakeholders across our business, especially sales, to produce price quotations for customer deals and to manage the deal desk workload.

About the role

  • Working in a tight-knit, dedicated Deal Desk Pricing team, you will utilise your commercial acumen and strong influencing skills, together with confidence in your analytical work, to support Sales in producing pricing for customer deals across the business. You will contribute to the c1000 deals the team supports worth well over a billion pounds.
  • You'll will combine high quality numerical analysis, good commercial instincts, and confident influencing skills, especially with Sales, to gain consensus and approval for your pricing propositions. This will involve working with a diverse array of stakeholders, including Commercial, Legal and Regulatory teams as well as Operations.
  • Integral to the team is a high degree of constant learning and knowledge transfer, meaning you will have the opportunity to develop broad based business skills and in-depth expertise in all aspects of pricing.

About You

  • To be successful in this role, you’ll have the following skills and experience:
  • Proven commercial acumen and good business sense to think strategically and identify opportunities. 
  • Excellent Excel modelling skills. 
  • Good financial knowledge, especially with regards to cost contribution and margin analysis. 
  • A business or numerate degree is desirable or significant relevant analytical/modelling experience.
  • Ability to build and maintain a wide network of stakeholders and thereby influence senior managers across multiple departments, including sales.
  • Can explain complex subjects in a clear and succinct way, verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to ensure that numerical work is accurate, consistent with other analysis and with a full audit trail.
  • Experience of pricing in a commercial environment is desirable.
