Location: Placements will be across various roles in Finance which are located in either Royal Mail, Future Walk, Chestefield, S49 1PF or Royal Mail, 185 Farringdon Road, London, EC1A 1AA or Royal Mail Bolton.  However most roles will cater for remote/hybrid working where possible with some travel to these locations required. There will be a requirement to attend, on occasion, your closest geographical office to suit training and business needs.

Our Finance team plays a huge role in driving Royal Mail’s performance. As part of our Finance graduate programme, you’ll take the lead on projects that contribute to our ongoing transformation.  You will work with colleagues helping to deliver our financial strategy across different functions with a view to driving change, performance agenda and create efficiency using digital tools.

Finance Graduate Programme Overview 

  • This is a three-year programme. 
  • You must have a Minimum 2:1 degree in finance or numerate degree or AAT Level 4 qualified and be able to start CIMA qualification.
  • You will complete several different placements throughout the 3-year program covering the main finance functions in both Chesterfield and London locations.
  • You will receive Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) professional qualification sponsorship
  • You will receive management training to develop leadership skills and have support from buddies and mentors throughout the programme.

 

About the role

You will have varying placements across the Royal Mail finance function set over three years, you’ll experience the breadth of our business – from Commercial finance and treasury to operational and external reporting teams. Putting your strong analytical and numerical skills to work, you’ll discover the dynamic commercial environment behind Royal Mail and develop the decision-making skills you’ll need to progress into more senior roles. This will be further developed by structured leadership development along the way.


While learning how to thrive in a large and complex business, you will start working towards your Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) professional qualification in year one. While we expect you to use your initiative and champion your own development, you’ll also benefit from the guidance and support you need to build a successful career at the top of our business.
