Royal Mail Pensions is looking to add De-Risking Pensions Benefits Specialists to it’s team. This is a new team within the Pensions Service Centre (PSC), focusing on delivering the Benefits Specification for the Royal Mail Pension Plan. Working closely with the Trustee and its professional advisers, along with other teams within PSC, the team will complete this work and then use it to complete compliance audits against current administration processes.  These are exciting opportunities for experienced Pensions Administrators, with a background in DB and CARE pension schemes.

 

About the role

 

As a pensions specialist you will be working to deliver the Benefits Specification for the Royal Mail Pension Plan and execute subsequent compliance tests against administration processes to provide assurance to stakeholders and potential insurance providers.

 

You will also:

 

•    Be responsible for the execution of compliance tests against PSC business processes to ensure conformity with the Benefit Specifications, once signed-off
•    Work collaboratively across PSC to close any gaps identified through the execution of compliance testing 
•    Work collaboratively across the De-Risking team and wider Pensions Service Centre to define solutions for any remaining pension benefits, record keeping and administration processes to enable post-migration calculation and payment of any residual benefits in RMPP
•    Deliver any rectification of benefits should the need arise
•    Draft Member communications, including any under the Plan IDR process, for Trustee review and sign-off arising out of any rectification of benefits 
•    Ensure that the Pensions Helpline is fully briefed and able to answer member queries arising out the Programme
 
To be eligible for the top end of the salary banding you will need to hold PMI qualification (APE, QPA, CPSMG etc) or other role relevant qualification (e.g. payroll, finance) with relevant DB Pensions experience.

 

About you

 

To be successful in this role you will need to be able to demonstrate an expert level of understanding of a UK DB Pension scheme and CARE benefits. You should also have knowledge of working with data typically provided to pension schemes by participating employers.

•    Plan your own work and operate without day-to-day detailed supervision
•    Have experience of working with ambiguity and evidence of solution generation within the pensions workspace
•    Have highly developed communication and influencing skills, with experience of working with senior internal and external stakeholders, and professional Advisors        
•    Focus on attention to detail and are able to understand wider picture 
•    Have demonstrably strong written and verbal communication skills long with highly developed numeracy skills
