Royal Mail is now recruiting for three Traffic Office Assistants. If you can work well under pressure and are friendly and professional, you are the type of person we’re looking for.

Without logistics we simply wouldn’t be able to function. The physical transportation of mail is what we do.

 

About the role

38 Hours Per Week, Full Time, Across Monday to Friday. 1x vacancy = early shift , 1x vacancy =Late shift, 1x vacancy= night shift.

 

Early Shift –        Monday                               08:00 -  14:00

                            Tuesday – Friday               06:00 -  14:00

 

Late Shift             Monday – Friday               14:00 - 21:36

Night Shift           Monday – Friday               22:00 - 05:36

                        

In order Royal Mail to run a safe, efficient and cost-effective fleet, the Traffic Office Assistant would be expected to carry out the following tasks:

 

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Ensure that the Isotrack Management System (vehicle tracking) is kept up to date and data correctly inputted daily and all drivers are de-briefed at the end of their duty.
  • Ensure that CDU/FTA, the system used to record our drivers hours, is kept up to date and data correctly inputted daily in order to ensure that we comply with European Legislation.
  • Issuing of vehicle keys and log books in line with Royal Mail standards.
    Ensure digital tacho cards are down loaded in line with Royal Mail policy.
    Daily debrief to be carried out with all drivers, any unresolved issues to be passed onto shift manager.
  • Ensure planned vehicle maintenance is carried out and that the maintenance board and vehicle files are kept up to date.
  • Trailer Tracking Compliance inline with current business operating practice
  • General office Administration tasks as directed
  • Hold a current clean driving licence for driving up to 3.5t vehicle (van) to perform ad-hoc collections & ferrying drivers to vehicle workshops to collect HGV vehicles.
  • Full Training will be provided.

 

Salary & Benefits
 

You will receive a starting basic salary of £272.81 per week for full time hours pro rata for part time hours, which will increase to £318.28 after 12 months.

(The above rates do not include any overtime or shift allowance)
