Job Purpose 

The Linehaul Optimisation Manager role will be accountable for ensuring the regional networks are fully optimised to meet business standards. The role will be involved in the development and assurance of significant network change in National, Regional and Special Event networks and specifically the lead in regional network compliance.

Key accountabilities 
    
1.    Optimising regional networks via continuous improvement and Network revisions
2.    Work collaboratively to drive utilisation improvements in National and Regional networks 
3.    Planning the efficient operation of local distribution
4.    Interface with Vehicle Operating Centres (VOCs), Plant teams and other key stakeholders
5.    Input to National and Regional plans for Christmas and other Special Events 
6.    Develop local contingency plans and solutions 
7.    Deliver operations metrics to evaluate Regional Network performance and Compliance 
8.    Day to Day performance and connectivity of Regional Networks 
9.    Quality of Service loss attributable to Network

•    No direct budget responsibility, but with influence over budget of up to £20m

Experience and Qualifications required for the role

    Key Skills 
•    Relevant industry experience or knowledge of Mails Operations 
•    Knowledge of UK road transport legislation 
•    Knowledge of RM Operations especially National and Local Distribution 
•    Understanding of RM Operations Strategy 
•    Network design and planning skills 
•    Programme and project management skills 
•    Network design and planning skills 
•    Experience in the use of optimisation systems and techniques 
•    Analytical and decision making skills 
•    Ability to deliver results through people using a coaching approach 
•    Experience in working in road transport environment, specifically in optimisation or planning roles
•    Familiar with route planning software systems such as Paragon

Monday - Friday (Flexiblity is required)

Location 

Can be flexible candidate will be covering South Yorkshire and North Midlands Areas
