Royal Mail is looking for a Product Development Manager to manage the change and enhancements to our existing Products and introduce new products and services to support the continued growth within parcels.


This role is part of the Product Development team, which is delivering significant change to the Royal Mail Parcels business, supported by new technology which helps provide the framework for improvements


About the role


Your role will involve completing the market analysis and planning through to gaining the investment to deliver the enhancements for market launch. To be successful in your role, you will need to manage numerous external relationships across the business and have a track record of delivering developments on time.


You will be responsible for resolving one or more simultaneous business as usual consumer and account issues by managing amendments and incremental improvements to the commercial attributes of existing products and services, primarily through conducting customer/market analysis, determining product specifications, drafting legal terms and conditions and developing marketing strategies. Changes managed through this area will have zero/negligible information technology impact.


You’ll influence the Business’ ability to achieve the Parcels revenue generation and retention targets through delivery of key services and features. Identifying the potential business benefits / costs that will result from the delivery of the business requirements will be essential.


You will support wider Commercial Parcels and Products areas in the generation of circa £1bn revenue per year.              


About you


You will have proven track record of developing products across their life-cycle and identify new products to deliver and maximise growth working in a commercial environment, stakeholder management, data analysis and governance.You will ideally have collected your experience and successes within a Parcels environment.


Being a strong communicator, you will have expert knowledge of business and marketing analysis an understanding of working in a regulated environment ideally be a self-starter with a high level of resilience working with cross functional teams and multiple stakeholder groups.


You will be able to effectively manage the development of products with wider commercial teams focussing on customer and business needs and be confident in initiating change, managing suppliers and preparing business cases.


Ideally experienced within product development and product management you will have significant expertise of developing products in a commercial and operational environment alongside experience of managing customer, commercial and product market launches.
